UAE Employment Visa Process: From Job Offer to Residency

Once you have a job offer in the UAE, your employer handles most of the visa process. Here's what happens at each stage, and what you need to prepare.

The UAE is one of the most popular destinations for international workers, thanks to its tax-free salaries, world-class infrastructure, and high quality of life.

Step 1: Job Offer & Employment Contract

Your employer submits an entry permit application to the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE).

Step 2: Entry Permit

A 60-day entry permit is issued. You use this to travel to the UAE and begin your residency status change process.

Step 3: Medical Fitness Test

A compulsory medical examination must be completed at an approved UAE medical centre.

Step 4: Emirates ID & Residence Visa

You'll be registered for an Emirates ID and your 2-year renewable residence visa will be stamped in your passport.

Documents Required

  • Valid passport (min. 6 months validity)
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Signed employment contract
  • Educational certificates (attested)
